2017: A Year In Review - Events

Hi there!

Today is the very last day of the year 2017. It sure is crazy that the years are flying as fast as they have been. I am thankful to have made it through another year. The Year 2018 is on its way! Okay, I may have made that sound more futuristic than it actually is. I promise you all that I don't think 2018 will be that futuristic, but I am looking forward to an amazing year both online and offline. On this post, I wanted to review the amazing year we had in the Wizard101 Community.

Events Galore - A Time To Bring The Community Together

For two years now, every Holiday we have had events to bring the community together. I've had amazing cohosts who have helped me put this event together and make it as fun as possible for you all. My inspiration for events came from the event master, the best event hosts from Diary of a Wizard. Their events are the best events to ever occur in Wizard101 and I'm glad I had the opportunity to attend the events years ago. This year we had amazing people attend our events and we're extremely thankful and grateful that you have spent time out of your days throughout the year to spend with us. Here are a few amazing screenshots of each event we had this year:

St. Patrick's Day 2017

Bunny Run 2017

Dark Fairy Takeover

Patriotic March

Christmas in July - Santa Run

Back To School Event

Halloween Run 2017

Turkey Run 2017

Santa Run 2017

Thank you all so much for attending the events throughout the year. Bringing the community together is our priority and we'll continue hosting these events for you for many years to come. I hope you all stick by with us through our transition from old events to the new and improved events. At the end of the day, the number of people who attend does not matter. Diary of a Wizard taught me that bringing this community together is amazing and even if two people appeared at our events, we'd still continue having them - as we have for years. Thank you for your support and I hope you continue supporting community events throughout the Spiral. Show love to everyone in 2018. Happy New Year, everyone! Oh, before I forget! I will be publishing a new post tomorrow about  Until then, I'll see you around the spiral.

We Need A Little Christmas!

Hi there!

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I can't believe how fast time flew by this year. I am looking forward to watching Christmas movies today/tomorrow and spending time with family. Let's not forget Christmas cookies and hot chocolate, Yum! I hope you all do take time offline and spend with your family this Holiday season. Merry almost Christmas! Here's "We Need A Little Christmas" by Johnny Mathis.

I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day

Hi there!

We're nearing the time. The best time of year, Christmas. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by, it really doesn't feel like Christmas should be in a few days. Rest assured, I've had time to watch plenty of Christmas movies, eat cookies, drink hot chocolate and participate in various Christmas events in the game and in real life. It has been amazing! I am going to enjoy these next few days so much because it truly is my favorite time of year. Anyway, here is another favorite Christmas song - "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" by Casting Crowns.

Greatest Time of the Year!

Hi there,

It's the 21st of December. I am looking forward to Christmas! I hope you all remember the most important meaning of Christmas as the day approaches. Here is another favorite song of mine that was released for The Santa Clause 3 movie back in 2007. I remember watching the movie in the theatre and still can't believe that was 10 years ago. Time is flying by! Here's "Greatest Time of the Year" by Aly & AJ (Old Disney is the Best Disney)

Underneath The Tree

Hi there!

Wow, I've missed quite a few Christmas songs this month. I usually don't miss this many, but you know, enjoying Christmas activities in real life and stuff. Here is "Underneath The Tree" by Kelly Clarkson!

Christmas Events Galore - Recap

Hi there!

I hope you're having a wonderful week. Lately, I've been more involved in the community, even when I'm extremely tired. I've tried to attend as many events as possible to show my support for all events in this wonderful community. I love that so many amazing people bring the community together past our differences to remember that we're one community. Here are a few Holiday events that I had the chance to attend during the weekend.

Austin Stars' Shooting Star Charity Stream

This event was hosted by Austin Stars. This event was a fun, family-friendly event for the community. Everyone was asked to donate to the Toys for Tots Charity throughout the stream. I really love the difference that our community is making by having events like this. Austin did a great job bringing everyone together for a tour of his amazing Christmas Hotel, maze, hide and seek, and PvP. It was also fun to watch his stream where he announced his giveaway for four $10 Wizard101 Gift Cards and a lot of fun. Thank you, Austin for bringing the community together and I hope to see you having another event/stream soon!

Austin's Twitch

Chris Hamptons' Dawn of the Wizards Christmas Party

The Facebook Community has many groups related to Wizard101. In these groups you can post about Wizard101 - whether you need help, promoting an event or even promoting Kingsisle News. One family-friendly Facebook group that I love is Dawn of the Wizards. They had a Christmas Party at their houses where we could interact with amazing people from the group and the leaders of the group. I love events like these and appreciate that the Facebook community is also brought together! I brought my balance wizard on my second account to this event. A Major thank you to Dawn of the Wizards for bringing wizards together once more. Can't wait until next year!

Duelist101's Christmas Clash 2017

Duelist101, an amazing Wizard101 Fansite, hosted a Christmas Party during the weekend as well! This event brought many out of the PvP community together to enjoy some family-friendly PvP/Tournaments. Duelist101's Alex Thunderstaff streamed the entire event! We're very lucky to have such an amazing community across the board bring everyone together for some family-friendly fun. Thank you to Alex and all of the Duelist101 Staff for putting it together. I was there a bit on my life wizard but switched to my balance wizard to take some screenshots (which I thought I took but I didn't). Thanks again for your hard work as well to bring the community together.

Hot Chocolate!

Hi there!

Okay, I am finally caught up on Christmas songs for the 19th day of December. Wow! Time is flying by and I'm going to enjoy these last few days we have until Christmas Day. I hope you all will do the same thing. Today I wanted to post a song that I posted on my Santa Run Recap Post - "Hot Chocolate" by Tom Hanks! Why? Well, we had Christmas Caroling on the Santa Run day and this was my favorite moment. I can't wait until future Christmas Events to continue that new tradition. And now, I kinda want hot chocolate.. Hmm, I think I'll go make some!

Winter Wonderland

Hi there!

I've posted this amazing song on my blog nearly 5 years in a row now. This has always been an awesome song that I love listening to during the Holiday season. It hasn't snowed much since I've started posting these Christmas songs, but here's hoping this year is different! Here's "Winter Wonderland" by The Eurythmics!

Merry Christmas Darling

Hello!

Here's another amazing all-time classic that you may know. Here's "Merry Christmas Darling" by The Carpenters!

Christmas C'mon!

Hello!

Here is another, new, favorite Christmas song of mine that was recently released. Here is "Christmas C'mon!" by Lindsey Stirling!

I'll Be Home For Christmas

Hi there!

I apologize for my absence in posting Christmas songs here on my website. I am back now and I'm able to share some of my top favorite Christmas songs. I will be posting five Christmas songs today since I missed four days of songs prior. My first song of the day is "I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Kenny G. I wanted to post this because it was the last song we listened to for 2017's Santa Run. Thank you all for attending that event and/or supporting the purpose of the event to bring the community together.

Santa Run 2017 Recap

Hello Wizards!

I want to thank all of you for attending last week's Santa Run! This year, we decided to switch things around and have the event on a Friday. Not everybody was able to attend the run due to timing, but overall, it was a lot of fun! Here is my recap of this year's Santa Run:

Twitch Stream - Guide For Future Events

Autumn Dreamwalker and I started streaming the event at 12:00 pm CST on our Twitch account, EdwardLifegem. We started out answering any questions anybody had about the Santa Run so we could start off without too much confusion. I am glad I promoted the Twitch Account more so everyone knew where to go. The plan is to stream all events on that account from now on so everyone knows what to do. I would like to thank everyone for following my Twitch account and for those wondering where you could find it, you can click this link below:

Spotify - Christmas Caroling Galore

My favorite part of the event was definitely the Christmas Caroling! The amazing thing is that people we caroled for also loved it. These amazing people clapped, danced and even sang along with us. The amazing thing is that they sang with us because Christmas is in exactly one week. I wonder if they'll sing with us when we do the same thing in July? I guess we're just gonna have to see what happens! "Hot Chocolate" by Tom Hanks will be the very first song we play in July for the Christmas in July Santa Run!

Our Community Manager - Amazing Prizes

As many of you know, we had many prizes at the Santa Run - whether it was in the stream or in the game. Thanks all for not begging for prizes and enjoying the event for the meaning of bringing everyone together. To add, many of the codes that were given away were from our awesome community manager, Tom Purdue. I wanted to add a section of the post to thank Tom for all of his hard work making the community an amazing place. Also a huge thank you for making the event family-friendly! I am so glad that Tom and Kingsisle interact so much with the community. We'll continue to work with Kingsisle to make our events family-friendly and amazing. Thank you so much, Tom & Kingsisle!

Santa Run - Amazing YouTube Videos

We streamed the Santa Run on Twitch (and currently I have no idea how to add videos of events) so we wouldn't have had any videos from this event without amazing YouTubers out there that recorded the run. I hope you all subscribe and give a thumbs up on these videos! They spent the time to attend, record and edit these amazing videos - and it really does mean a lot to me. Thank you so much! If you would like to access their channels, please scroll over and click their names below:

A Special Thank You - Bunny Run Announcement

Thank you so much for attending this year's Santa Run! I have to say that this was by far my favorite event to host out of all of the events I've hosted. It really put me in the Christmas spirit and I have to say that it will be an event I remember forever. It was nice having all of you there and the main purpose has been and always will be to bring the community together. I would also like to thank our amazing hosts: Autumn Dreamwalker, Kaitlyn Soulrider, Gabby, Michael Wildflame, Weasley, and Sarah Skystrider for helping put the event together. Now, it's time to improve from these events for events next year. This next large upcoming event is the Bunny Run of 2018. I hope you're ready for this. This year we will be streaming the event on Twitch as well. I think I should give you the Official Date of this year's Bunny Run. I will not really promote it until February, but I thought I'd give a teaser:

Bunny Run 2018
Saturday, March 24th, 2018
The Commons, Unicorn Realm
More Information TBA Next Year

Now that you have some information about next year's Bunny Run. I hope to make this the best event yet! It'll be tough because the Santa Run was amazing. I'll come up with some ideas for these next few months. I hope you all are looking forward to an amazing 2018 because trust me, it will be amazing! Until then, I'm going to enjoy myself a nice cup of hot chocolate and watch some Christmas movies - all week. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  Thank you all for reading and for attending the Santa Run.
