2018: A Year In Review

Hi there!

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful day so far & you're looking forward to counting down to 2019. I know quite a few awesome people in our community are already in 2019... Makes you wonder how the future is going. :P Anyway, I'm making this blog post today to talk a bit about things that happened this year + what will happen in 2019!

This year has been a year of Events, Streams, and so much more! While this year has been a little different from previous years, I've enjoyed hosting these events to bring this wonderful community together. We already have plans for next year (view video at the end of the post for more information about these plans) and I hope y'all are able to check all of our Holiday-themed events out next year. I recently made a Recap Video from the Santa Run that I thought I'd share again on this post. Feel free to click on the play button below to watch this Event Recap Video below:

This video was made during this year's Santa Run to show appreciation for all of you for what you've done to inspire us to continue these events for the community. We look forward to hosting even more events as we progress into the new year & start of the next decade. Your support for our events means the world to us! Thank you all for continuing to inspire us to host events with our main goal of bringing the community together. I love all of Y'all!

One other amazing thing has happened this year is the start of our group questing streams. I've had so much fun streaming with such great friends since the start of Wizard City. We'll be starting Dragonspyre soon! We'll continue to progress through the worlds as we enter 2019. Thank you to everyone that has stopped by during our group questing streams to help out or to say hello. Your support means a lot. I can't wait to continue these in 2019 for both Wizard101 and Pirate101. On top of that, we'll be streaming other games too.. You'll have to stick around to see that. :D

The Year 2018 has been one big adventure & a learning experience. I look forward to bringing what I learned this year to improve in the New Year. I've planned so much already for the New Year that there was no way I could fit it all on this post so I made a 30-minute rambling video that you can watch below. Next year will be a great year! Let's progress in 2019 & make the year the best year ever whether it's real life, in game, etc.  Also feel free to watch the video below for more details about a change to the events, stream, this website, and more. Thank you all for reading this post. Until 2019, I'll see you around the Spiral. Happy New Year!

25 Days - Day 26? Christmas Will Return!

Howdy!

I hope all of you had an amazing Christmas. Mine was perfect. It was nice to hang out with family, eat good food, and remember the reason for the season. At this point, I'm sure you're wondering why I'm talking about Christmas on December 26th... Well, I wanted to let you know that Christmas will return! Here's the final Christmas song of the month - "Christmas Will Return" by Brenda Russel & Howard Hewitt.

⭐ 25 Days - Day 25: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing ⭐

Hi there!

Merry Christmas to each and every one of you! Today has been such an amazing day. I've already had my Christmas Lunch/Dinner and I'm just now getting around to posting my final (possibly - hehe) Christmas Song of the month. Can you believe that today marks the 25th Christmas song that I've published? This is the first time since I started this that I was able to make it all 25 days!

One reason I post my favorite Christmas songs each month is clear that this is my favorite time of year. I think I might love Christmas more than my actual Birthday because of many reasons. One of the main reasons I love Christmas so much is because of family. It's been such a great time spending time with my family this Christmas & it's always spending time with all of you - which I consider my online family. I love Y'all. Here's my final song of the month: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" by Christendom College Choir & Schola Gregoriana! Merry Christmas everyone & Happy Birthday, Jesus! :)

⭐ 25 Days - Day 24: The First Noel ⭐

Hello!

It's Christmas Eve aka the 24th of December. This month flew by! But today is definetely one of my favorite days of the year. I love how peaceful it is this time of year - especially today. I am going to hang out with my family & watch Christmas movies such as It's A Wonderful Life. I've watched It's A Wonderful Life every Christmas Eve since 2003. I'll also be viewing Christmas lights that have been put up around my town. :)

Today is really going to be a great day. Speaking of great, this month has been such an amazing month. We only have one more Christmas song to post after today. Tomorrow is Christmas! The song for this Christmas Eve is "The First Noel" by BYU Combined Choirs & Orchestra! This song represents one of the many reasons why I celebrate Christmas. Happy Almost Birthday, Jesus. Have an amazing Christmas Eve, everyone. :)

25 Days - Day 23: We Three Kings Of Orient Are

Hello!

It's the 23rd of December! It's officially Christmas Eve Eve. I hope you're spending plenty of time with your family as we near Christmas. I've been spending a lot of time with my family by watching Christmas movies, decorating outside, and of course, decorating/eating Christmas cookies! :D This is seriously my favorite time of year. Today I'd thought I post another song that I believe represents the Christmas season.  Here's "We Three Kings Of Orient Are" by The Robert Shaw Chorale!

25 Days - Day 22: The Little Drummer Boy

Hello!

It's the 22nd Day of December (still a few hours left - I'm glad I didn't forget to post this next song). Today I thought I'd post a well-known Christmas song, "The Little Drummer Boy" by Harry Simeone Chorale! We're only three days away from Christmas. :D

December 21, 2018

25 Days - Day 21: Christmas Everyday

Hello!

It's the 21st Day of December! Happy Winter! Today I thought I'd share a song that was recently released (the last time I did was during the beginning of the month). "Christmas Everyday" by David Archuleta has recently become a favorite Christmas song of mine. This song was released this year! Have a listen to it by clicking on the play button below. :) Merry Almost Christmas!

25 Days - Day 20: The Christmas Song

Hello!

It's the 20th Day of December! Today I thought I'd post a song that I heard on the radio on the way to the Mall for Christmas Shopping. "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole has been one of my favorite Christmas songs for years! It really got me in the Christmas spirit on the way to the mall. By the way, I did have a lot of fun. :) This time of the year is so much fun. I hope all of you are making new memories as we get closer to Christmas.

25 Days - Day 19: Do You Hear What I Hear?

Hello!

It's the 19th Day of December. Don't eat Crab Lagoon (you're probably wondering why I've been typing this - well a few years from now I'll look back and wonder the same thing). Anyway! It's time for the 19th song of the month! :D I've posted today's song nearly every December since 2011. Here's "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Bing Crosby.

Santa Run 2018 Recap

Hello Wizards!

I'd like to start this post out by thanking all of you for your support for events like the Santa Run. Whether you're able to attend or not, your support truly means so much to us. This year's events were among my favorite events that we've had. The 4th Annual Santa Run was definitely my favorite of the year (possibly all years). Let's take a look at what we did at this year's Santa Run!

Above you'll see a video made by WhiteTiger93, an awesome WizTuber! He's been making Recap Videos of our events for over a year now. He doesn't only do Recap Videos, so make sure to check out all of his content by subscribing to him when you get a chance. :) Thank you, WhiteTiger93, for yet another amazing recap video!

The Activities: Farming, Giveaways, Raids, Etc.

We started this year's Santa Run by participating in various activities. The first main activity was farming Krampus!  I was able to make it through each Krampus fight (Wooden, Stone, Gold) for the first time. This was a fun activity, to begin with. We also participated in Hide & Seek - where we gave away a wide variety of prizes like packs, a pet, and mounts. Later on in the day, we had a Wizard City Raid featuring Evil Snowmen, Pet Derby with Holiday Pets (I made it to 3rd place hehe), and Christmas Caroling. It was so much fun to update the activities for this year's Santa Run.

The Santa Run: Polar Express Theme

We redeemed a 1-Day Polaris Express Mount from a code giveaway during the Caroling activity. We used the Polaris Express for the theme of this year's Santa Run. We've had a certain theme to each event & for years I've wanted to incorporate the Polar Express into one of our events. We played songs from the Polar Express soundtrack in the background as we drove/ran during this main portion of the event. This part, of course, was my favorite part of the event! It's always fun to line up on the bridge and countdown to New Year's Eve, I mean The Run! :)

The Afterparty: Such A Great Ending To 2018

Shortly after the Run, our amazing port wizards (Victoria, Iridian, and Sarah) teleported everyone to the afterparty houses. Each host (Michael, Sarah, and Gabby) used three different houses to giveaway stuff from the Crowns Shop. This is usually the more relaxed portion of the event where people PvP & hang out to talk. I've always believed that this is the best time to make new friends or interact with old friends. I am glad so many of you had fun at this year's Santa Run. It was a lot of fun hanging out with y'all during the afterparty + getting that amazing memorable screenshot (see WhiteTiger93's video above for that).

Thank You All So Much:
I'd like to thank our amazing moderators, hosts, and port wizards for helping us put this event together. I'd also like to thank all of you for your support. We appreciate all of the love you show to our events whether it's by sharing or attending, or even both! I made a video below recapping our events dating back to our first Run Event: Santa Run #1 in 2012. Y'all keep us going and we'll continue hosting these events for you. Feel free to watch the video below by clicking on the play button. We look forward to hosting many more events for all of you in 2019, 2020, and beyond.

25 Days - Day 17: Where Are You Christmas?

Hello!

It's the 17th Day of December which means it's time for the 17th Christmas song of the month. Can you believe that we're only one week away from Christmas?! It seems like this month (year) flew by so quickly. I'm still shocked it's the Holiday season. I guess it'll start kicking in after my Christmas movie marathon week - this week. :) I need to watch Jim Carrey's version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I hope to watch that first! Speaking of that... here's the 17th song: "Where Are You Christmas?" by Faith Hill!

25 Days - Day 16: White Christmas

I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for attending/supporting this year's event - watch for a Santa Run Recap post! :) I'm exhausted from a long, but also fun, day so I'm going to share another favorite Christmas song and get some rest. Here's "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby!

25 Days - Day 15: Jolly Old St. Nicholas

Hi there!

It's already the 15th Day of December! Can you believe that we're already halfway through the month? Another 17 days and it'll be 2019. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. I'm looking forward to two important days: Christmas and the Santa Run (which takes place tomorrow). I promised myself yesterday that I would post Santa-Themed songs this weekend.. so here's "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" by Ray Conniff Singers!

25 Days - Day 14: Santa's Family

Hi there!

It's the 14th Day of December which means it's time for another Christmas Song! The Santa Run (for Wizard101) is quickly approaching. I can't believe it's this weekend. I thought I'd post more Santa-Themed songs as we near the Santa Run. One song I thought of right away was "Santa's Family" by John Goodman. This song was from the animated Rudolph movie made in 1998 - I loved both the classic and this movie as a kid. Anyway, have a listen if you haven't already!

Wizard101: Final Stream of 2018

Hello Wizards!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've made a group questing recap post! Today, I thought I'd put a twist on it by announcing that our next group questing stream will be our final stream of 2018. I promise that this isn't the end, but we would like to spend time with our families for the Holiday season & we invite you to do the same!

This year has been so much fun. We've made new friends & strengthen old friendships through group questing. We went from Wizard City to Mooshu with a group larger than 4! I have no doubt in my mind we'll make it far in 2019. Our main goal with these streams will always be to bring the community together. I thank all of you for helping us do that! If you're unable to join our next stream (information below), we hope to see you in 2019 as we continue to group quest through the Spiral!

Hi there!

I hope you're having a wonderful Thursday. You're one step closer to the weekend & one step closer to Christmas. :D Today is the 13th Day of December which means it's time for me to post my 13th Christmas Song of the month. I know I've said this 100 times this month, but I can't believe how fast this month is flying by. I am going to spend all next week watching my favorite Christmas movies & listening to my favorite Christmas songs! This week, however, I am spending to prepare for the Santa Run. That's also a lot of fun to do during this wonderful Holiday Season. Anyway, here's another favorite song - "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney!

Wizard101 Zazzle Store: 10th Anniversary T-Shirts Coming In 2019

Hello Wizards!

Our awesome CM, Mathew, just announced via Twitter that the 10th Anniversary T-Shirts (shown on the recent Anniversary Part 4) will be coming to the official Wizard101 Zazzle Store in 2019! It's been quite some time since the Zazzle Store has had new items, so this should be a surprise to everyone. Make sure to keep an eye out on the Official Wizard101 Social Media pages early next year for more information.

I would also like to thank Kingsisle for sending me one of these amazing shirts! I was so excited to see it arrive in the mail today. It's nice to see that Wizard101 is still successful after 10 years. If you would have told me back in July of 2009 that the game would still be popular in 2018, I'd believe you. Seriously, I had no doubt Kingsisle would make it to their 10th Birthday. Just like I have no doubt that they'll make it to their 20th. Thank you for an amazing game & shirt, Kingsisle. :)

25 Days - Day 9: Sleigh Ride

Ahoy Christmas Pirates!

Wait, this isn't a Pirate Post... Anyway, it's the 9th Day of December which means it's time for another favorite Christmas Song. Sleigh Ride has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs. I was thinking about posting this song the other day when I went to my town's Christmas Windows (Don't worry, I didn't forget that I need to make a post about that). My town actually has sleigh rides during that event - which is amazing! Okay, I need to stop talking about it until I have my images/videos together. Here's "Sleigh Ride" by The Carpenters! :)

It's Almost Time For The Santa Run: Your Checklist

Hello Wizards!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Can you believe how fast December is flying by? I feel like we started this month and we're already nearing Mid-December. I am very excited for this upcoming week because I get to watch Christmas movies & host our 4th Annual (5th Total) Santa Run. Here are a few things that you should do before the event next week (Sunday, December 16th).

Read The Official Post
The Official Santa Run Post provides a link to where we'll stream this year's event, an official list of activities (not all activities are as they seem - which means you'll love them), and a video guide of where we'll be running in Wizard City. Please watch the Video Guide before the Santa Run begins, or you won't know where to run. If this is the first time you'll attend our event, the official post will help you out a lot. Feel free to click on the link below to read the post about this year's Santa Run. :)

Watch The Stream On The Event Day

We now stream our events to make everything less confusing. Once we go live with Santa Run, you'll be able to ask questions in the stream chat, view the official time the Santa Run Begins (this doesn't include activities that take place before the main event), view the realm we're in, etc. Please watch this stream so you're not confused about where you should be or which activity everyone is currently partaking in. The Santa Run stream will begin with activities starting on Sunday, December 16th at 12:00 pm Central time. Feel free to click on the link below to access our Twitch Channel:

Ask Any Questions You May Have

One of our main goals is to make the Santa Run fun & less confusing than it needs to be. If you have any questions about this event (or any other event we have) feel free to ask us whether it's in the comment section below, social media, etc. I'll answer any question you have about the event. I'll add that Mounts & Santa Gear isn't required to attend this event. If you can dye your gear Red & White, that'll work. Either way, everyone is welcome to attend! Please keep the event family-friendly if you do attend. Let's make the event fun for everyone. :) We hope to see you at this year's Santa Run - thank you all again so much for your support in our events this year.

Hopefully, I can watch a few tomorrow mornings through most of next week. Anyway, quite a few of my favorite Christmas songs are actually from movies. Today I'd like to share a song from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Here's "All Alone On Christmas" by Darlene Love!

25 Days - Day 7: Christmas Vacation

Hi there!

It's the 7th Day of December which means it's time for me to post my 7th favorite Christmas song (none of these songs are in order of favorite songs). One song that has been in my mind is from a hit-movie, Christmas Vacation. I love this movie so much & I need to watch it sometime this weekend. Anyway, I don't believe I've ever posted this song on my blog, so I thought I'd make 7-Year History and post it today. Here's "Christmas Vacation" by Mavis Staples!

25 Days - Day 6: Winter Wonderland

Hello!

It's the 6th Day of December which means it's time for the 6th Christmas song of the month! I can't believe how fast this month is flying by. Well, to be honest, I still can't believe it's December. It's time that I believe it because Christmas is quickly approaching! Speaking of Christmas, my town hosts a Christmas Window type of event each year downtown. They sing Christmas Carols, have sleigh rides, and Christmas lights all over! It's really amazing. To make it even better, it snowed today. This will be the first time there will be snow on the ground at the event. It's going to be amazing! I'm going to bring some hot chocolate & walk down this pathway. I will try to make a new blog post with this real-life adventure sometime tomorrow. For now, I'll leave you with one of my favorite Christmas songs... "Winter Wonderland" by The Eurythmics!

12 Days of the Spiral 2018 - Day One: Charity Mounts

Hi there!

The 12 Days of the Spiral have returned for the Holiday Season! Kingsisle will share a special surprise (for both Wizard101 and Pirate101) each day through December 18th. For the first day of the Spiral, Kingsisle has brought back two charity mounts - the Charity Noelephant & Charity Bah Humbug to both games. These two mounts can be bought in the Wizard101 & Pirate101 Crowns Shop for 7,500 Crowns.

These are Charity Mounts which means net proceeds up to $50,000 will be equally donated to two charities in Texas: Creative Action Austin & Children's Health. The more wizards that buy these two mounts this Holiday Season, the more money that will be donated to these two programs. If you buy crowns soon, don't forget to purchase one (or both) of these mounts. Make sure to purchase these mounts before December 19th.

Hi there!

It's the 5th Day of December which means it's time for me to post my 5th Christmas Song! So today's song is "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee. There's a reason why I chose this song to share with y'all today... I finally got my Christmas Tree! Gosh, it's perfect. And yes, it is a real tree. :) I can't tell you how much I love this time of year.. Anyway, I'll leave you to the Christmas song. I need to start decorating!

It's been so nice to see all of the changes - such as decorations, Christmas music, etc. I mean who wouldn't love this time of year? :D Today I'd like to share a song that I heard on the radio which made me remember how much I love this time of year. Here's "It's Beginning To Look A lot Like Christmas" by Johnny Mathis!

Kingsisle Live: Happy Holidays Community

Hi there!

Kingsisle recently had an episode of Kingsisle Live. This last episode was the Holiday Episode since there will not be an official KI Live stream for the month of December. Our community manager, Mathew, will be having a stream on Friday, December 14th - keep an eye out on Kingsisle's Social Media for more information about that. In the meantime, feel free to catch up on the most recent episode of KI Live by clicking play on the video below. :)

25 Days - Day 3: Last Christmas

Hi there!

It's the 3rd Day of December which means it's time to post another favorite Christmas song. This third song has always been a favorite since as long as I can remember! I mean, there's no way I'd leave it out of this year's list of favorite Christmas Songs (which are not in order - I love all of these songs equally). Anyway here's "Last Christmas" by Wham!

25 Days - Day 2: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Hi there!

It's the 2nd Day of December. Today I wanted to post an amazing song from one of my favorite Christmas movies, "Miracle on 34th Street" from 1994. This movie has been one of my top favorite movies (I really need to watch it before the Holiday season is over). Here's "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Kenny G!

Wizard101: Quest With Us In Mooshu

Hello Wizards!

Over the past few months, I've been questing with a great group of friends in Wizard101. We've made our way through Wizard City, Krokotopia, and Marleybone. We're now preparing to quest through Mooshu! Keep reading this post for more information about our group questing & when you can join us on our adventures.

If you haven't quested with us over the past few months, I'll tell talk a bit about our group questing. Nearly every Tuesday we log into the game and quest with a group of friends (larger than 4). We make our way through the main quests on these days and use the other days to complete side quests. We use Friend Chat to communicate with everyone - this feature especially helps when someone gets behind.

As I've mentioned above, we do log in every Tuesday to continue progressing in the game. We stream these adventures nearly every Tuesday at 6:00 pm Central on Twitch! Streaming group questing helps out a lot since there's more communication between us. View more information below about the next time you can join us on our questing adventures:

Our FIRST Mooshu Questing Stream
Tuesday, December 4th
Mooshu, Kelvin Realm
6:00 pm Central / 7:00 pm Eastern

Everyone is welcome to attend our questing streams. If you want to help out or even bring a Wizard that's in Mooshu and needs help - we'll quest with you (just give us time to catch up to your wizard). We hope to see you there. Thanks to everyone for your support. See y'all at our group questing events!

It's December - The Holiday Season

Hi there!

Can you believe that it's already December? It's already the final month of 2018! I am so ready for Christmas - I've already decorated my website! Christmas has always been my favorite Holiday out of all others. It's usually a busy time of year, but I shockingly have a lot more time than any other time to make new blog posts - like this one!

I have a lot of blog posts planned for this month - including the 25 Days of Christmas Music. This year is my 7th year of posting Christmas music here on my website. I look forward to sharing my favorite Christmas songs this month & many more times in the years to come! :D Speaking of years... our 4th Annual Santa Run is coming up! Keep an eye out tomorrow (Sunday, December 2nd) for the Official Santa Run Post. And don't forget the date... Sunday, December 16th!

It's always such a blast having these Santa Run events for the community. The Santa Run in 2012 started all of the events, so this event has always been a special one to me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy them! By the way, if you plan on attending this event for the first time, we'll be streaming the event on Twitch starting at 12:00 pm Central - Sunday, December 16th. Feel free to click on the link below to access our Twitch Channel.

There is really so much to look forward to this month. Kingsisle always surprises us + there are awesome Holiday-Themed events from the community! This month is my favorite month out of the year & I look forward to spending time with the community & my family. I am thinking I might make blog posts of my real life adventures (such as Christmas windows, Live Nativity Scenes, etc.) right here on Around The Spiral. Keep an eye out for those posts, events, and more! Thank you all for reading & I hope you have an amazing Holiday Season. Merry Christmas & if you celebrate another Holiday, Happy Holidays!

Christmas 2018 - 25 Days of Christmas Music - Falala!

Hi there!

It's December! If you've recently come across my website, you may or may not know that I love Christmas. I love Christmas so much that each year I post a Christmas song each December leading up to Christmas Day! This year marks my seventh year doing this. :D

Christmas means a lot to me & my family. I feel like this time of year (no matter the Holiday we celebrate) brings family & friends closer together & reminds everyone what really matters. For me, it's family, friends, and overall life! I look forward to sharing this message through my favorite Christmas songs. Here's the first song of the month - Falala by Jim Brickman feat. Olivia Jade Archbold. Merry Christmas, everyone!
