I'm Leveling My Wizards To Level 100!

Hello Wizards! Lately I haven't made much Wizard101 blogs but I want you to know I've been very busy on Wizard101! I've been leveling my wizards like crazy so I can catch up on everything. This week I've leveled more on my wizards than I have in years and can't believe all of the progress I've made on not just one wizard, but three of my wizards! So far this week, I've leveled my life wizard from level 84 to level 87, my storm wizard with my sister from level 84-87 and my fire wizard from level 94 to level nearly level 97! I think I've done a great job this week. I plan on leveling all of my wizards on my main account to level 100 by July 4th, 2014. July 4th is my 5th wizardversary! :) I can't believe I've been on Wizard101 nearly five years. :D I have to level my wizards to level 100 so I can be level cap again on all of my wizards. I think it'll be fun being the highest level again. I remember in the old days where 60 was the level cap and all of my wizards were level 60! I know it'll be fun to be level 100 on all of my wizards with all of their gear and pets. :D This is my goal until July 4th, do you think I will make it? Bacon and Eggs!

Ahoy Pirates,

It's been ten days since I last made an EC blog post! I need to start blogging about my character more often but I haven't had as much time to log on and make blog posts. This usually happens, so don't worry. I will start making a lot more blog posts over this Summer. I hope you all stick around to read all of the wonderful posts I have planned. :) The other day I quest through the game a little bit and had a lot of fun.. Before I tell you what I did, I'm going to tell you what I did on my last blog post.

On my last blog post I had to help Catbeard start a war! Why? Well.. I need to free Mustang Sally from the Fort Elena Prison, but first I need to start a war with Marleybone in order to help free Mustang Sally and Napoleguin. Napoleguin is a peguin from Polaris that Catbeard and Mustang Sally were planning on freeing but Mustang Sally ended up getting caught and imprisoned. I had to start a war with Marleybone by attacking ten of their ships. This quest wasn't the easiest quest but I did get through it. :) After I was done sinking all ten of the Marleybone Ships in Port Regal, I had to sail back to Catbeard's Lair and tell him the news. The other day I started to quest again and Catbeard told me that I really needed to anger the Royal Army by kidnapping the Governor's oldest daughter. He then gave me a note to drop in the Governor's chambers to blame the kidnapping on Valencia. After I was done talking to Catbeard I had to talk to Gilbert and Sullivan. Gilbert and Sullivan told me how to get to Mabel, the Governor's daughter, and how to sneak into the Governor's mansion. I had to sneak into a tunnel to get the governor's mansion to kidnap the governor's daughter *makes me wonder how they didn't know there was a tunnel that wasn't guarded in their heavily guarded mansion*. Once I made it to the tunnel, I noticed there were other kidnappers! I had to defeat Beemish and his gang before I could make it to the Governor's mansion. I didn't have any trouble defeating them, so don't worry about defeating them if you're on this quest. :) 

After getting through the boss I made it inside the Governor's mansion! Wait...Is that turkey bacon?? Wow... That actually looks pretty good. Well, I know it's almost lunchtime but can you imagine having turkey bacon and eggs?! I mean... Uh... Back to kidnapping the governor's daughter??! 

As you can tell by all of the images I've attached to this post, I was caught! I had to defeat a couple of redcoats to escape but I'm hoping they don't tell Marleybone that Skull Island actually kidnapped the governor's daughter instead of Valencia which we put the blame on by dropping that note. :D Mabel wanted to go so it wasn't that hard getting her to come with me. After I was done defeating the redcoats I had to escape the mansion before being caught again and sail back to Catbeard's Lair with Mabel. 

WOOT! It's official. Edward Cringle finally made it to level 30. I'm so happy I leveled with this quest because each time I level I feel like I'm a tougher swashbuckler, so my next post will be a lot of fun because I'm a higher level. I earned a new potion, training tomes and new attacks since I leveled. :D I didn't continue questing because I was busy leveling my companions and training new attacks from my Swashbuckler teacher. Have I told you I really enjoy questing on my swashbuckler?? Well if I haven't, I enjoy questing on my swashbuckler!! :D Well, that's it for today. I think I need to go eat something because I was hungry ever since the bacon and eggs.... I'll see you around the spiral. :)

Pirate101 Party!

Ahoy Pirates,

There's going to be a huge party on Pirate101 in May! Alura from Art in the Spiral and staff at Adventures in the Spiral have put together a special event that I think all of you will enjoy. I haven't been to a party like this in awhile and I'm really looking forward to attending a party like this one. Many Pirate101 Fansite owners will also be attending this party! Pirate101 Online Safety Contest Winners!

Last week I decided to have a new type of contest that I haven't ever had on this blog before, an Online Safety Contest. I ask everyone to send me an online safety tip they follow and would like to share with everyone else in the community. I received a ton of emails with so many important safety tips. It's easy to lie online, how can you tell if you can trust them or not?

1) They will try to gain your trust and make friends with you.

2) They may try and get you to do things e.g. give them your phone number.

4) They may send you a link and that may be a computer virus or software.

5) They may encourage you to give personal information.

The best thing to do if you wish to stay safe online is to prevent others from knowing exactly who you are. Posting your location (country, state, time zone, room in the house even) is unsafe and can help predators locate you. Selfies and images taken from your phone or another mobile device contain image data, including location which will allow people to find your state (if in U.S.), and sometimes even the room you are in. Selfies, posting age, and physical features also allow predators to find and identify you in a public location, or even at your house. Stay safe!

I think the best online safety tip is to never give out your personal info. Just because you think you know the person online, doesn't mean that you really do. The internet allows people to act like whoever they want.....you just never know who is really behind that screen.

Pirate101: Online Safety Contest!

Ahoy Pirates,

I thought I'd have a contest that I haven't had on this blog, an Online Safety Contest! How does this online safety contest work? Well.. I want all of you to email me an online safety tip you follow that you want everyone else to know. If your email is like another email, that's okay! I want everyone reading this blog that it's important to stay safe online and I think it would be awesome if a friend of someone that is having trouble staying safe online safety tips on this blog to let them know that online safety is important. This isn't an Easter contest that I originally planned to have, but I think it'll be great to have something like this to help everyone.

Open Letter About Contests

Hello Wizards and Pirates,

I really wanted to talk to you about something that has been on my chest for awhile. I've been thinking about the codes I've been giving away lately. I love giving away codes but I don't like giving them away to someone who gets a ton of them from my contest and other contests. I'm not someone who's obsessed with the amount of viewers on my site. I'm obsessed with the games Kingsisle has made and what I can blog about that I look back on in the future. :) I want everyone else reading my blog to have the same opportunity. I'm not one of those people that like having contests all of the time. I know when my blog was first created in in 2010 I only thought about having contests to get my views up. That's the truth, but now I don't like having them because it makes me upset when I see more comments and views on a contest than any other post that year. I know publishing a post that has the word contest in it will be more of something than any other post. I don't look forward to having contests as much as I did back in 2012-2013 because now everyone is entering multiple contests to win as much as they can. I know there are wizards and pirates that do that and it makes me sad. If you enter contests, let everyone else have that chance to win something they might not have a chance to win this year. If you won a code from my last contest, I want you to show me that you will let someone else win next time. This doesn't just count for my contests, this counts for every other blog that's having contests right now. If you win a code from one blog, don't try to win that same code from another blog to have two of the same item you won. One other thing that is bothering is that when someone tweets something on twitter about a contest, everyone goes crazy. Really? Contests are NOT that important. One day RT something that has something to do with a new YouTube video a wizard/pirate uploaded or like a blog post on Facebook that someone has made. This doesn't have to be my YouTube videos or blog posts, I want you to do something for someone that might not see much of that. I would also like to see you comment on other blogger's blog posts. Let them know what you think of their post and where you are in the game or something like that. I think it's important everyone in the community knows they're awesome and not just because they have crowns to giveaway. :) This post does not mean I won't have another contest, it's just something I've been thinking about lately. Pickled Herring

Ahoy Pirates!

I finally have a new blog post about Edward Cringle! I haven't been able to quest on my swashbuckler because of the test realm's release last week and I really wanted to make my posts that I made last week before I started questing again. I'm so happy I test it out because I didn't know if it would mess with my questing or not. I really can't wait until the test realm is released because it does have awesome updates and I can't wait to see them on the live game. :D I'm sure you'll start hearing more about my companions and pets once the updates are released to the live game. :)

I'm going to stop talking about the test realm for now and start talking about my last blog post and the quest I had to complete today! On my last blog post Edward Cringle had to help Gilbert and Sullivan find their shipment that was stolen by Iago, a valencian unicorn. Gilbert and Sullivan knew where Mustang Sally was and they wanted me to help them before they would help me. After collecting their contraband I sailed back to their shop and they told me that Mustang Sally was helping a prisoner out of Fort Elena but was caught and she was made a prisoner. Gilbert and Sullivan then told me that Mustang Sally was working with a cat named Catbeard and he might know more. Today I had to sail to Catbeard's Lair to find out more about what happened and who she was breaking out of Fort Elena.

Today I found out that Catbeard and Ratbeard don't like each other. I think they have the same relationship as Tom & Jerry! I also found out that Mustang Sally & Catbeard were hired by Gortez to break into Port Regal to free a penguin, Napoleguin. Napoleguin was an emperor of Polaris. Once he became emperor he attacked all of his allies. Napoleguin was betrayed by Marleybone and Valencia and he was then captured and sent to Fort Elena. Gortez wants to free Napoleguin so he could help him win the civil war in Monquista. Catbeard wants to free him so he can have all of the pickled herring that'll last him his entire life! I'm sure by now you see him eating it above.. He also told me that Polaris is full of pickled herring. That's important information!

Catbeard said he knew a way I could get into the prison to free Mustang Sally if I helped him free Napoleguin. Catbeard said he wanted me to start a war with Marleybone. He said he wanted me to start by attacking ten of the Marleybone Ships in Port Regal Skyway. I didn't like this quest because it took a very long time and sometimes two ships at one time attacked me and my ship couldn't handle all of the attacks. Sometimes my pirate had to fight the enemies on their ships because my ship health was low. I don't really know about this quest but I'm sure it's easier for everyone else. I'm one of those pirates that don't like a quest if it takes too long (30 minutes), but I'm happy when I finish so I can post about it on this blog. :D I think the most important thing about this quest is to have the right ship gear so it doesn't take too long. I had to switch my gear around and by the end of my quest, it was a lot easier to defeat these ships. So.. today I'm going to give away a code for crowns so everyone that's having trouble can get the right ship equipment from the crowns shop or whatever else you want. :D I didn't stop questing after defeating the ships but I sailed back to Catbeard's ship and told him what I did he then told me what he said in the picture below. :P

New Easter Mounts!

Today Kingsisle released two new Wizard101 mounts to the crowns shop just in time for Easter. Well, it's called Spring mounts but I'm going to call them Easter mounts instead. :) These new mounts are EPIC. Seriously... I want one! I will get one before Easter ends. :D I hope you all decide to get one too because they are only available for a limited time which means you won't be able to buy them after Easter until next Easter. You can buy the Caerbannog Rabbit for 3,750 Crowns and the Prismatic Hare for 4,500 crowns only in the crowns shop! Pirate101 Test Realm: Advanced Companions & Class Companions!

Ahoy Pirates,

I made a post a few days ago about one of the new updates on the Pirate101 Test Realm, the advanced pets, and I decided that I'd make another about the advanced companions today! There's so much to look forward to and I've only had a chance to test out a few things on the test realm. I plan on testing more out today or tomorrow so I can make a new post about it to let you know what I think about it.

The advanced pets on Pirate101 are just as awesome as the advanced pets! I'll tell you the truth, at first I was worried advanced companions wouldn't make sense and I'd be left behind on it but this isn't something anyone should worry about. I think it's the best feature Kingsisle could add to this game. Why do I think this is the best feature? Well... let me talk about an example of one of the orders the companions can now do. Lets say one of your companions that you don't really like using for battling just stays behind and you never use him. Well when this feature is added to the live realm you can now use that companion, not for battle, but for an order. Let's talk about one of the features I like the best, Keel Haulin'. You can send one of your companions that you don't want to use in battle on a quest for training tomes by using the Keel Haulin' order! This is awesome because if one day you're busy and don't have time to farm for gold, you can send your companions on a quest to get training tomes by clicking on the companion you want to send and then you would have to click on New Orders. If you send more than one companion on the same quest, it'll take longer for the 2nd companion, and longer for the 3rd. This counts for all of the orders in the picture above.

There's one thing I'd like to talk about before I continue about the advanced companions. Kingsisle also added new class companions for all pirate classes! I'm happy all of the pirate classes gets new class companions (who doesn't love getting a new companion?). The musketeer class gets a flamingo companion- like the one above-, witchdoctors get a shark companion, swashbucklers get a frog swashbuckler, buccaneers get a new pelican companion named Peter Quint and privateers get a monkey conquistatrix companion. I've test out most of the companions and think they will be an awesome addition to my crew. I'm excited about using most of them as my firstmate. You'll be seeing my frog companion a lot on my swashbuckler's posts once this update is added to the live realm. :D The class companions are awesome but if for some reason you don't like your companion you can use the orders. Now.. I have one more thing to say about the orders.. If you want your companion to collect a lot more of lets say gold from Plunderin', you can train your companion a talent that will help your companion gain 10% more gold from that order quest you sent your companion on. I've added images below of examples of what I'm talking about.. :D Altogether, I think it's a nice idea Kingsisle added the advanced companions feature and new class companions to the game. I really can't wait to see these updates on the live realm! I'm already preparing for everything for the live game by well... making these blog posts! Haha. :D Okay... I know you've probably read a lot already but I have one last thing to tell you before you look at the images below.. Pirate101 is also giving us companion training tomes! They will give us the number of our companions we have worth of training tomes. This the last awesome thing I have to blog about... at least for today.. 101st Day of 2014!

Pirate101 Test Realm: Advanced Pets

Ahoy Pirates!

I'm sure you've heard by now that the Pirate101 Test Realm has been released with all kinds of awesome updates! I knew that I would have to wait for the test relam to see if all of the Pirate101 updates would be as awesome as Kingsisle said they would be and they are. :D I've been on the game lately testing out all of the new updates and you wouldn't believe how much fun I've been having! I've test out a little bit of everything but for this post I'm going to tell you what I think about the new advanced pets.

The first thing you have to do to figure out how to level your pet and everything is to talk to Mickey Dugan right by Avery's Office in Avery's Court. There's a long quest that will help you figure out everything you need to know about pet leveling & pet pvp. You will need this quest to sail to Bestia from Avery's Court. I recommend you complete this quest so you know how to level your pets and if you're up for a challenge, pet pvp. I won't give anymore hints on how you're supposed to do this since you can find out how to on the Test Realm or on the Live Realm once it's released. I think this update is my favorite update I've test out and can't believe how much awesome there is in this update.

I really can't believe how much fun I've had leveling pets. I know a lot of you know that leveling pets on Wizard101 does take a lot and sometimes you can't get what talents you want. Pirate101's Advanced Pets are different, in a good way. :D I like everything about the advanced pets and can't find anything so far that I don't like about it. I think everyone should test this out and then tell everyone if you like it or not, I bet you'll like it because it's not a requirement to level your pets because of a worry you're pirate won't make it through the next world. Pirate101's advanced pets are far different than Wizard101's advanced pets.

Leveling pets on Pirate101 are a lot faster and easier to level because you can choose the level and difficulty to level your pet. There are different worlds you can level your pet in *along with different levels* you'll earn more experience, health, strength, agility by each level and the higher world you level your pet in. You don't have to sail to that world to level your pet. You can level your pet anywhere you want to level it. If you decide to level your pet, there is a wait time with the type of strategy you level your pet with. You don't have to wait if you don't want to! You can spend a few crowns to speed past the wait time (doesn't cost much at all). I think it's awesome to level your pet by the level, and it doesn't take as long as you would think it would. You can actually buy and earn snacks (will blog about that on another post) and the snacks do not cost much gold. I'm sure by now you've read awesome about 100 times... no... 101 times now! Oh... did you know that your pets increase in size once you level them to a high enough level?! :D If you don't want the pet size to increase, don't level your pet and it'll stay the same size it was before the update. :)

One last thing I would like to talk about is the pet morphing. I can't believe how awesome this is. There is a pet morphing tent in Bestia where you can morph/hatch pets for the price of gold. You have to morph your pet with another different pet for a chance to get a new morphed pet. You can hatch your two pets or you could hatch with another pirate's pet to get your awesome pet. I know this is an awesome feature to have to get the coolest looking pets in the spiral! I am glad Kingsisle added this feature to the game, I'm sure you'll be noticing a lot more pirates in the live realm showing off their pets once the test realm has been released to the live game. Make sure to report those bugs on the test realm so we don't have any on the live realm. :) I know it'll be hard to remember that since Kingsisle released so many epic features. My Wizard101 Memories!

I've been thinking about how much I've changed since creating my first wizard on July 4th, 2009. I can't believe how much I've change since 2009. I still can't believe soon I can finally tell everyone I've been playing Wizard101 for five years. I don't know how much hours I've played on Wizard101 but I know I've enjoyed every single hour I've been on the game. Don't worry, this isn't my last post and I'm not quitting the game, I just like thinking about how much the game has change and how much it's change me.

As you know, I've been playing the game since 2009 and I've been through a lot of test realms and events. I remember when Wizard101 had a contest on the test realm where everyone could redeem a code to win a prize for the live realm. I also remember my first test realm with mounts.. Wow, mounts have change the game so much. I'm happy Kingsisle added mounts because if we didn't have them, we'd have to run around on our feet. Wait what? Run around without mounts?! Yes there was a time where we had to do that :P The first time I logged onto the test realm, we had well over 100,000 crowns (could have been 200,000) to spend on mounts and I remember going to Olde Town and racing our mounts with other wizards. The first mounts to be released was horses, lions, brooms and dragons. Everyone on the test realm had a mount and we all enjoyed racing them around. :) No, I didn't win the race, but I still had fun. :D I met tons of new friends in 2009 and I'm glad to say now that even though I don't get to talk to them, they are and will still be my first best friends on Wizard101. *see image above* :)

After all of the test realms in 2009 I met the community in 2010. I know many of you know that Mary and I created our blogs Pie Loving Necromancer and well... Wizard101... I know, I know, strange name but I didn't know what to name my blog! :P The Friendly Necromancer really inspired me to blog because he made blogging seem like so much fun and I thought it would be nice to create my blog to let everyone know how I was doing on the game and what's happening in the spiral. That's where my idea of Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem started. I created my life wizard in 2010 and I thought it would be a great idea to call my blog Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem after another name switch (wizard101->the life of a wizard or something like that->around the spiral with edward lifegem). Another wonderful memory I remember is going to Diary of a Wizard's Ravenwood Ball & Birthday Bash. I went to the first one and I didn't know anyone other than Mary. I was shy, but I still felt like this was the community that I would love to be friends with. During the 2nd Ravenwood Ball (see above), I met a lot of wizards since the first one and I was good friends with everyone. The 3rd one in 2012 was also awesome, I miss Fallon, Diary of a Wizard and events like these. In 2013 there wasn't a Ravenwood Ball which was crazy because I was hoping there would be one every year. It's okay that sometimes things don't happen but it doesn't mean it won't happen this year or the next. I hope Diary of a Wizard/ Fallon comes back soon. :) 

I know I didn't tell you everything that happened in the past or it would have to be every post I've made on this site. I want to tell you that every post on this blog is a great Wizard101 memory. I love making posts for this blog because one day in 20-25 years I can come back to my site and remember that I had a great time with all of you all. I'm so happy I have all of these memories even the bad ones because they make me stronger. Thank you all for everything! I just want you to know that you're all special and I'm glad I joined Wizard101 on that rainy 4th of July so I could meet all of you. :) Now... I think it's time to start making new memories. I don't hang on to the past, I remember the past because it will be part of the future one day. Thank you for reading, I hope you all have a ton of great memories too. Pirate101 Farming Event Recap!

Ahoy Pirates!

Yesterday I host my first event ever and couldn't believe how many pirates were there and how long the event last! I really want to thank all of you for showing up and supporting my blog. We even had trivia when before and during the event. :D It was a lot of fun farming with you all. It really does mean a lot to me that you all were there farming with me and I'm happy you all read my posts even if some of them don't make sense. :P Thank you again for showing up and I hope to have another event soon! If you couldn't come to the event because you were busy, that's okay. :) I will have more events and you can attend any one of those if you want to.
