🥳 Happy 14th Birthday, Around The Spiral 🥳

Hi there!

Today marks 14 years since I created this website. A lot sure has happened over the past 14 years - from it taking me 8 years to become an official Wizard101 Fansite & Pirate101 Fansite, to no longer being one, to hosting dozens of in-game events, making YouTube videos, creating another website, and so on! The question is... what do I have planned for the future?

It's not a secret that the future certainly holds new in-game events. I'd like to promote them more and to a new audience. Our real world is very chaotic and divisive. Despite this, I want to offer the community a place to come to escape all of that.  There is a community within the Wizard101 community where everyone is welcome at our events regardless of their sexuality, political affiliation, religion, etc.

I joined Wizard101 in 2009 to escape the real world for a bit each day. I'd like to provide that same escape to everyone here. If you want to hang out with a truly diverse and lovely group of people, I welcome you to attend our in-game events. I want to work with Kingsisle to bring our events to a much larger audience - not to promote my name, but to promote a truly diverse community.

One other thing I hope to do is to make new YouTube videos - specifically Spiral News Season 3. I've wanted to do that for quite some time and will look into it. Regardless, I'd like to share my opinions on the game. I promise I'm not a Kingsisle hater - per my nearly 15 years of playing their game and being involved in their community for nearly as long. I want to share my thoughts on how they can improve their game.

As of late, I've been very proud of Kingsisle - with their creation of Ravenwood Academy (releasing later this year), listening to players on PvE, and the generous gifts to the community through the Fansite Festival which celebrated its 10th year. There is much to appreciate. I've defended and criticized Kingsisle - that's what true fans do. A fake fan would only share hate or only share love about the game.

Other than that, I'm happy to finally be back and provide more to the community than I have these past few years. It's been very tough. I've lost family and friends. My dad passed away from Covid this past September, but I thank Jesus, family, and friends for helping me get through this tough time. I've had my ups and downs, and sometimes so far down where I am where the Helephant appears from.

My support system has helped me get through one of the toughest times in my life to do things I haven't done before. Kingsisle, Wizard101, Pirate101, and the community have been in a special place in my heart for nearly half of my life. Blogging certainly is of the past, but I'm using Around The Spiral to transcend blogging.

I'd like to thank you all for 14 wonderful years of Around The Spiral. I hope we can have another 14 - but I'll be almost 45. Lol. I'm not going to rush time. Thank you all so much for your support. I hope to see you Around the Spiral. I also hope y'all will join us at this year's Pride Run event to meet our community within the community.

🏳️‍🌈 The Wizard101 Pride Run - Saturday, June 29th 🏳️‍🌈

Hello Wizards!

I'm happy to announce that I'll be hosting an in-game Wizard101 Pride event. Like Pride Parades, we'll have our own parade around Wizard City. You do not need a membership or mounts to participate in this event. All you need to do is wear a pride color (or colors) that best represent you. If you're an ally, wear all of the colors you can! Here's more information about this event:

When: Saturday, June 29 @ 3pm Central / 4pm Eastern

Where: The Commons, Wu Realm

Livestream: www.twitch.tv/AroundTheSpiral

Please share the link to this post with your friends - I hope to promote this event so everyone knows there is a community of love and support. I'm hosting this to let everyone in the community know they are loved and accepted no matter their sexuality, political ideology, religion, race, etc. As a fellow gay man, I'm thankful I got to come out to such a large accepting part of the community. I'm paying the love back by hosting in-game events such as this. I hope you can attend - the picture below is from 2023!

Happy 9th Birthday, edwardlifegem.com!

Hi there!

Today's a very special day for this website because we're celebrating its 9th Birthday! Nine Years Ago, May 10th, 2010, I decided to create this website with Mary Dreamshade from "The Pie Loving Necromancer" to start blogging about a game that I love, Wizard101. Since then, we've made so many memories!

I created my website using the domain edwardwintergem.blogspot.com. My original purpose was to share my ice wizard, Edward Wintergem, adventures with everyone. This included farming for specific pets, attending events, and of course, questing! One specific topic that I would often blog about starting out in 2010 was the upcoming world of Celestia! Let's just say I couldn't wait to see this new world released to the public. Kingsisle would often hint at this world by releasing concept art & such, but waited awhile to officially release the world. I made a handful of blog posts about Celestia, but as soon as it was released, I started questing instead of blogging. Oops!

After leveling all six of my wizards at the time, I started paying more attention to reading blogs such as "The Friendly Necromancer" and attending events from another Official Fansite, "Diary of a Wizard". I was not as active in the community at the time and everyone who knew me knew that I was shy. As time progressed, I became less shy & more open. With that, I made many new friends! I also decided to start blogging again during the following year, 2011. I continued making many new Wizard101 blog posts throughout that year and through 2012.

In early 2012, Kingsisle announced a new game called Pirate101. I knew that I wanted to blog about this game because I loved pirates and really, the first online game that I tried playing was Pirates of the Carribean Online. Although, I must say that it lagged quite a bit since my computer was blah! :P Anyway, Pirate looked amazing and I started making many posts about events & my questing adventures (Edward Cringle to be specific). At the current time of this blog post being published, I believe more than half of the posts made (currently standing at 1,807) are Pirate-related. GO Pirate!

It's 2019, nine years to the day after I created this website. I must say that it's been such a great adventure! As we head into my blog's decaversary, I hope to continue bringing the community together through new blog posts, events, and more. Thank you all for supporting this website whether you just started reading today or have been reading since day one! Let's continue this adventure together.  Feel free to read all of my current May 10th posts by clicking on the dates/links below.

May 10th, 2019

To end this post, I made a short montage of most of the headers that I've used over the years! Some of you may think that I've used the current header (at the top of the blog) the entire time I've been here, but I've used various headers for this website over the past nine years. Anyway, I'll leave you all to watching the video below. Thank you all so much for reading this post & supporting this website.  Until next time, I'll see you around the spiral. Onwards to 10 years!

Revisiting Wizard101 UK

Hello Wizards!

It's been quite some time since I've logged into the Wizard101 UK servers. How long? Well, it's been 3 years! In 2012, I made blog posts about questing adventures in the UK server. I made a few friends on that account, however, I forgot my account user & password. A few years later I created a second account in early 2015 with a 3rd Edward Lifegem.

I logged into the US Server today while brainstorming for our 4th Annual Santa Run. During this brainstorming, someone in the Arena was talking about where they were from. I started thinking about the UK server at that point. I was away from the keyboard for a while after that, but I was thinking about downloading the server again to check in on Edward Lifegem #3! I was in the server for about an hour talking with a few people. I was actually able to add a new friend (Blaze) from the UK server in the US server.

I also met another great person, Talon. I asked him quite a few questions about how the UK Server worked. Thank you, Talon, for answering those. You didn't have to, but you did. :D It was very nice talking to you & meeting another nice person from another Country. Serbia to be precise! This American enjoyed talking to you. This adventure was fun & I hope I can revisit the UK Server again soon. Let's hope it won't take me 3 years to visit it again. Thank you all for reading! Until next time, I'll see you around the spiral. :D

Happy 4th Birthday edwardlifegem.com!

Hi there, today is Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem's 4th Birthday! This means I've been making blog posts for four years. I remember creating my blog on May 10th, 2010 with Mary Dreamshade and even though it feels like yesterday, I'm still happy I have been blogging this long. I really want to thank everyone for helping me stick around this long. I almost quit the game in 2011 but I'm glad I'm still here blogging and having fun on the game. I hope to stick around another four years (that would be epic would that be to make an 8th Birthday post). Anyways, thank you soooo much! I really don't know what else to say than that. I plan on making tons of P101 & W101 posts this year, next year and however long I'm here. :D I can't believe how much this blog has grown since 2010. I have made nearly 1,000 blog posts on this blog! I think that's impossible because I've had so much fun and it's crazy to think that I've blogged that much. How about another 1,000? 2,000? Well we'll see :). I would like to thank One-Eyed Jack for accepting my submission for Pirate101 Fansite and Kingsisle for amazing games to blog about. I would also like to thank you for reading this blog! It's amazing that I have so many readers. I don't know who's reading my blog, but whoever you are.. Thank you so much. :) I'm going to end this post now by sending you to all of my posts I've made in the past over my blog's blogiversary. Thank you again and I hope to see you around the spiral. :) Click on the images below to view my blogiversary posts from the past. :)

900th Blog Post!

Hi there!

Wow.. I can't believe this is my 900th blog post. Okay.. I've made 900 blog posts on this blog so far! For me, that's a crazy amount of posting.. I started blogging in May 2010, and I'm still making blog posts. I was only expecting to blog a few years but blogging has actually become a fun hobby of mine. On this post, I really wanted to ask a few questions that I think you might be asking but not really, maybe, maybe not. Well.. we'll see! I want all of you to know more about why I blog about Pirate101 and Wizard101 and why I've kept at it for so long!

I'm sure many of you know that I started blogging about Wizard101 with my friend, Mary Dreamshade. Mary created a blog called Pie Loving Necromancer and I created a blog called... Wizard101! No.. I'm not lying to you, it's the truth. I didn't know what the name my blog and just named it Wizard101 only. LOL. I created this blog because The Friendly Necromancer, Thomas Lionblood, inspired me to blog. I continued to blog again in April 2011, after a hiatus. I didn't think I was doing a good job at blogging in 2010 (when I first created this blog) and didn't really know when to post or what to post about. In 2012, I started to blog about Pirate101 and enjoyed every single last moment of blogging, just like I did when I started to blog about Wizard101. I decided to submit my blog to Pirate101 for Official Blog status and was accepted after a few times. I know it took a few times for my blog to be accepted but never gave up. When I was accepted, I was proud, not that I wasn't before, I already had so much to be thankful for and this happened and it added to the list of things I'm really thankful for. I'm so happy this blog is official and I do plan on submitting for Wizard101 this year if they open applications again. I'm not submitting for any fame, codes, or anything like that. I'm submitting because I want to bring the community together this year (and the next few years). I have plans starting this year for doing the same thing for Pirate101. I had so many computer issues and couldn't really talk to anyone on the game, have events, or attend events since I had the computer issues. I know this year is going to be fun and I bet you by post #1000 you'll be surprised. :) I have so many plans this year (of my own, not going to give any hints) and can't wait to share them with you! Thank you all so much for reading this blog, and if you're new to the blog, please know you're important to me not because of the view or follow, because you're part of the community that I love and I want to blog my adventures and have events for everyone to enjoy. If you have a question about something on the game or need help, let me know, I have a contact page below the followers of this blog. I always answer direct messages and emails! Okay, before I make this post longer than it needs to be, I'm going to stop typing now. Now! No... NOW! Wait.. I need to say one more thing.. Thank You

How To: On My Blog

Hi there,

I really wanted to make a post explaining a few things on my blog such as ratings of posts, how to comment on my blog posts, and I'm going to show you how you can follow my blog by email where you can receive an email each time I make a new blog post. I don't think I made a post like this before, but I'm glad I am now so all of you can come to this blog without having any trouble. I'll start with how to rate my blog posts..

Rating Blog Posts:

I don't remember telling anyone I've added this, but I have seen a few votes on a few of my blog posts lately. I wanted to tell everyone more about this so you understand how to use the Reactions. Once you get through reading a blog posts, whether it be an awesome one, or a terrible one, you can rate the blog post by clicking in the grey boxes. If it's a shocking blog post, just click the grey box for the reaction :O If it's a happy blog post just click the grey box with the smiley :) If you don't feel like clicking, don't click! :P

Commenting On Blog Posts

If you'd like to comment on my blog posts, just click on the comments section below my blog posts. If there's no comments, you'll read No Comments. If you see this, just click on it and you'll see a comment box where you can comment (view picture above). Sometimes there's already comments on my blog post, and it'll say that there's comments on the post, just click that and you'll see the same box show up below my blog post! :) Remember, you have to be signed in to an email account to comment on my blog post.

Follow My Blog By Email

The last thing I want to tell you about is about the Follow By Email option on my blog. To use the Follow By Email option you'll have to type your email address you use where it says Email Address below the Follow By Email title in the picture above. After you type your email address just hit submit! You can use this to receive an email each time I make a blog post so you're always up to date on each and every one of my posts. Thanks for reading everyone and I hope this explained a few things you may have been wondering about!

The Best of the Best!

Hi there!

Its been a week since I've posted on my blog. I've been enjoying Christmas and time with my family. I hope all of you are having a great Holiday Season. :) Today is actually New Years Eve and I can't believe its the last day of 2013. I'm not sad though because I know that 2014 will be just as awesome as 2013. I wanted to make this post wishing all of you a Happy New Year AND I wanted to go over the major things that happened in 2013. :D

Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem in 2013

  • Contests: This year, thanks to Kingsisle, has been the most posted contest year. I've had a lot of contests with codes Kingsisle/One Eyed Jack gave me throughout the year and its been fun. I'm happy that I'm giving away codes, I hope all of you who won are happy with what you won and if you didn't win this year, that doesn't mean you won't win next year. :)
  • New Readers: Around the Spiral has gained a huge amount of readers this year compared to last year. We've had a huge amount of at least 100,000+ views this year alone! I don't know the exact number. Around the Spiral has also gained over 100 new members and currently at 351. Thank you everyone to viewing and following my blog this year. I still can't believe this blog made it this far but I need to start believing. You guys rock!
  • A Great Year: This year has been great. I'm so happy I can do something I love to do and still have readers. I know I've said this a lot but I'm still surprised I still have readers. My posts to me don't make sense, but I guess since I get over 150 views per day when I'm not posting means you all still look forward to a post. :) That's awesome!! Thank you so much, you've made this blog better each year and if there's any mistakes in the future, or even from the past, I promise I will learn from them. This blog makes me feel like a better person and so do you. :)

I hope to make 2014 as special as 2013. If 2014 means I won't gain any followers, views or become official. That doesn't mean anything. I am going to try my best to make the year as awesome as I can for the rest of you that read my blog. I am not worried about views or members. I really want to thank all of those who do view my site and follow my site though. Even though I don't worry about all of that, I am happy that there's a new reader reading my posts. I hope all of you enjoy my posts as much as I do. :) All of you are great and I'm happy I am in a great community like this one. I wish all of you a Happy New Year and thank you for everyone reading AND thank you to Kingsisle for making such great games and being the best game team in the world. :D Here's to a great 2014 for all of us! :)

It's The Holiday Season! (Post, Not A Christmas Song Post :D)

Hi there!

I haven't really made a post that didn't relate to the holidays in awhile. Sorry, I'm making another post related to the holidays so if you're tired of it, its okay if you don't want to keep reading. :) I just wanted to wish all of you a wonderful Holiday. I'm celebrating Christmas (I'm sure everyone that's viewed my site noticed that), and can't wait since I'm excited for it (and that)! I hope you're as excited as I am about the Holidays. :D I know its keeping me from posting normal posts other than Christmas songs, sometimes I miss posting the Christmas songs. This has happened because I'm busy and don't want to post too much since Christmas only happens once a year and I want to celebrate it now and enjoy it before waiting another year. I promise I'll start blogging again after Christmas or maybe after New Years. It depends. I usually take time off during the holiday season every year and I'm back again stronger than ever. I have so many plans for 2014! Yes I'm going to be here another year, HAHAHA Get ready haters. :D Kidding, but seriously. Nothing will make me leave until I'm ready (no idea at the moment but no worries). On New Years Eve I'll create a blog post about my New Years Resolutions I hope to complete next year and a look on 2013 on Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem. Thank you for reading this year everyone. Thank you to all of those that have just joined this site this year, last year, the year before that (2011), and before that (2010)! :P Here's to another great year! :D I hope all of you have a great Holiday. :)

Kingsisle Has Changed My Life

Hi there,

I've been thinking about a making a post like this for a few years but I really didn't want to make it because I was worried about making the post. A week ago Kingsisle ask everyone to make a Contest Blog Post. They wanted everyone to tell them what Pirate101 and Wizard101 has meant to them. I decided to make this post since I have a few words to say myself but I don't want to enter it for a contest, just to tell you more about myself and how I joined the game and what KI has done for me. They have done a lot and I decided to make this post to tell you what they've done for me!

As many of you know, I started Wizard101 when I was 16 years old in 2009 after viewing an advertisement on the T.V. I was looking for a game to play at the time since I was having a lot of issues in real life (death in the family, anxiety and depression issues) and wanted to get away from it for awhile and have fun on a game I thought/knew I'd really love to play. I decided to join to see how the game would be. I joined after trying Club Penguin out but CP wasn't really a game I thought I'd like to play for awhile. After joining Wizard101 I was addicted. I started playing a lot, and met so many great friends on the game. I wasn't thinking about it then but I was actually meeting great people on the game that I'd be friends with for years and couldn't believe how great the game was. This happened before I was introduced to the community. I was introduced to the community from Mary Dreamshade after creating our blogs about the game. We created our blogs about the game in 2010 because Friendly Necromancer inspired us to. I've enjoyed blogging about the game ever since! Now back to the community, after I was introduced to the community I knew I'd love to be friends with everyone but I was very shy, and I'm sure a few people that know me will be surprised that I was actually shy in real life. I was worried to add anyone and I really didn't even make that long of a blog post when I did make posts back in 2010. I was afraid to friend anyone on the game still and say anything to anyone in the community since I thought they were too perfect for me. :P Not lying! I thought everyone was epic and I didn't think I would belong. I soon realized I was WRONG!! I was wrong because eventually I did start adding a few people at the community events such as pvp parties, birthday parties, Ravenwood Ball and I am still good friends with quite a few people that I added at the events! When I started, I was shy but a few years later that soon would change!

Lets fast forward to now. I've changed, I know that now! I know for sure that Kingsisle has help me get through something that at the time years ago I didn't think I would get over. Kingsisle has changed my life and so has the community. I am so thankful for everyone that's reading this post! My life has changed on the game and I'm now talking to everyone and adding everyone and I do not feel depressed or have anxiety anymore. I know a few people that don't play the game would think I'm crazy for saying this but its true! I feel a lot better now and I know that I can get through things. I know there's going to be times in the future that I won't be able to come to the game for help but I have family that I can go to now. In 2009 I didn't go to my family at first because I was a teenager and I thought I could work everything out on my own. Sometimes you can work things out on your own but there's time that you need friends and family and they can help you out! On the way of figuring that out, I've made so many great friends, found out what I love to do (blogging), and I've made huge decisions in real life that have helped me a lot. I would like to thank Kingsisle and everyone reading for everything they've done for me. I'm not making this post for a contest or anything, I'm making this post since I have a blog and I really wanted to tell you how I felt the past few years. I know there's a few times that's been bad for me but that happens, the bad will never compare to the good that's happened. :) That's exactly how Kingsisle has changed my life, they along with you gave me hope that things would get better and they have. :) Before I end this post, I'd like to ask you all something. What has KI done for you? Just comment below! It doesn't have to be a long blog post like my post here, but I'd like to see what KI has done for you. I'm sure they've done a lot of good for everyone and I hope they know that we appreciate them! Thank you KI!!! :)

Happy Halloween!

Hi there!

Halloween has finally arrived. I'm excited for Halloween since I get to spend time with my family (since it's my brother's Birthday). Imagine having a Birthday on Halloween! That would be crazy, Candy and Cake? I wouldn't know what to do. :P Anyways, I'm spending time with my family and handing out Halloween candy. I am planning on dressing up when handing out the Halloween Candy, I'm planning on being a vampire. :D LOL I know what you're thinking... Edward the Vampire? No I'm not going to be sparkly or anything. x throws glitter x Kidding! I'm only going to have vampire teeth and look like a real vampire. Like those on Wizard101 and Pirate101, without the red eyes. :D Other than handing out candy and celebrating my brother's Birthday. I'm going to eat Reese's and Cake (Dinner First). :P So what are you doing for Halloween? I hope you're doing something fun/safe! Safe probably sounds boring to some people but it's always good to stay safe especially during Halloween. If you're planning on Trick-Or-Treating please watch both ways before crossing the street and everything. Don't eat too much candy or you'll get sick and that would mean I'd have to turn into a wizard to cast satyr and I am very busy tonight so it might take awhile! :P I'm sure I confused pirates since most of the satyrs on Pirate101 are evil, but they aren't evil on Wizard101. They actually heal wizards by adding health during battle. Kind of like the privateer spells.  :D Well I should go, I hope you enjoyed my little Halloween Update post. :D Stay safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :D (HOLIDAY SEASON STARTS TOMORROW FOR ME)

Online Safety Post (May 2013)

Hi there,

Welcome to my 100th blog post of the year! I was trying to think of something important to write about the past few days for my 100th blog post and I decided that I should write about Online Safety.  I hope you stay to read this important post. I also hope that this helps someone reading because I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone and I want all of you to stay safe online. Please read this post or share this post with anyone you think should read my online safety tips and I hope all of you read through all of this blog post. I'm also making a bullying blog post, a link will be provided below this blog post.

Online Safety

  • Wizard101 And Pirate101- Both of these games are very nice games, but even for the best games in the world, you'll still need online safety. Its not hard to stay safe online, you should know that you shouldn't give away your personal information such as where you live (State, town, address), credit card information, phone numbers, your name to a stranger. The things mentioned are meant to stay personal, please don't give away any of your information. If you would like to keep your Pirate101 and Wizard101 accounts, NEVER give away your password and username. If a wizard or pirate says they are going to give you crowns and a membership in return of your account information, its not true. They want to keep your account for themselves and when its all said and over, you'll end up losing your account. Kingsisle warns everyone before they log on not to give away their information, please take their advice and keep your account and continue to have fun on the game(s).
  • Social Networks- If you're younger than 13 please ask your parents for permission if you can enter a social network site before you sign up for one. Its very important that your parents know that you are on a social network, even if you don't want your parents to know everything its very important that they do know you're on a social network. Now for personal information, just as I said above do not give away any personal information such as your address or phone number. I know on Facebook they give you an option for a town/state and phone number but if you don't want it out there on the internet you shouldn't even put it on Facebook. Twitter is different, they don't ask you for your number, and I don't think you should post your phone number or where you live.
This is only 1/2 of the post I was planning on making. I'm also making a bullying blog post which will also be Pirate101, Wizard101 related. I'm also going to add bullying in real life. I really hope you do read this next blog post. I really do like making these posts because someone who needs online safety tips may be reading. I hope all of you are ready for a very long post, the bullying post will be way longer than this post. When the bullying post is published you can click on the image below for a direct link. Thanks for reading this blog post!

3rd Bloggaversary!

Hello everyone!

Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem has been around for three years! These three magical years have been great, surprising and sometimes difficult. Don't worry about it being difficult because this made me way stronger as a blogger and I'm glad I had difficult times to build up this site. I consider this blog one of my biggest accomplishments and this counts as one from real life. I can't believe that I've been blogging for three years, but I'm glad I continue to blog each year no matter what. This is not my last full year of blogging so I will have plenty of more birthdays! This one is a very special one though, I haven't had a chance to thank all of you for all that you do to make this blog. I'm not the only one that creates this blog, you also create it!

This blog has provided me with so many adventures and made questing through Wizard101 AND Pirate101 so much fun. I love sharing my adventures on the game with all of you wizards and pirates. I'm guessing ye pirates are wondering how I got started on Wizard101 blogging right? Well it all started, well three years ago lol, and I created a blog with a great friend, Mary Dreamshade. We created our blogs out of the inspiration of other bloggers one of the bloggers including our Pirate101 community manager, Tom Purdue. His blog has inspired so many people to create their own blogs. Thank you Tom (Friendly) for everything that you do! I'm very glad I created this blog I have had so many great accomplishments in the past three years that include: helping wizards and pirates with online safety tips, having more great friends, and official Pirate101 Fansite! Thank you all for helping me accomplish those three things and thank you Kingsisle for accepting this site, I know some of my posts aren't "normal" but hey, I'm not normal :P Thank you for reading this blog, I have many more goals and surprises for the future of this blog and all of you are included. I don't want to make this post too long because I want it to remain special. I'll look at this post years ahead but I won't forget anyone who made this blog happen and continue. Thank you for reading my favorite blog post of the year. Make sure to read my other blog posts from years past to see years first and second bloggaversary! I'll see all of you around the Spiral!

Goodbye Mason's Journal/ The Life of a Wizard

Hello UK Wizards!

I don't make much Wizard101 UK posts (Wizard101 US also), I really wanted to after reading Wizard101 UK community manager Emy Anemsalok's recent blog post though, kind of copying.. As you probably know Mason Swiftblade has decided to stop blogging. I can't believe this though because its crazy to see Mason (Tyler) stop blogging! His blog is another reason I really love continuing blogging so long. Its very sad to see that he has decided to stop blogging but I know this for sure, he has a great future ahead! I consider him one of my best friends and I'm glad to see he's planning on staying in the community for now. If he left then it would really be a sad post. I think the world needs more people like Mason, he's never made me upset and he's got to be the coolest person I've met online! Thanks Mason for everything you have done for the Wizard101 UK, Wizard101 US and Pirate101 community :) I'm glad I'm good friends with you and I'm sure a lot of other peeps reading this are too!

I always love reading your blog, and I will continue to even though you aren't blogging anymore! I'm going to read some of the old posts you have made and remember the old/good times! :{D

Happy Community Manager Appreciation Day!

Happy Monday!

The title says it all! I just wanted to make a post to thank all three of the best community managers ever, the Pirate101 community manager, Wizard101 community manager and the Wizard101 UK community manager! This probably will sound silly but I'm actually going to make this post longer than I thought it would be showing why I appreciate all three of the community managers for all that they've done!

Tom Purdue AKA One-Eyed Jack
Pirate101 Community Manager

Tom is just about a year old community manager for Pirate101, he is new at being a community manager and really does make a great one! He helps a lot of people on the message boards if they are having trouble even if they are mad he helps them as much as he can to fix a problem. He really does make a great manager for the game Pirate101. Thanks Tom for all that you do for the Pirate101 community :)

Kiersten Samwell AKA Lydia Greyrose
Wizard101 Community Manager

Kiersten is the community manager for Wizard101. She helps so many people, can't imagine how much people have asked for help because there's millions of people that play Wizard101. Thank you for helping us, warning us about last minute maintenance no matter what time it is, and everything you do for the Wizard101 community! You rock, and Lydia is my favorite teacher :) Let it snow!

Emy Amesalok
Wizard101 UK Community Manager

Emy is the community manager for Wizard101 UK, she is awesome! I haven't had a chance to play Wizard101 UK since last year, but I remember when there was a very important maintenance that needed to be done and it was late at night for her and she stayed up and made sure everything was okay before she even went to sleep! It was afternoon for evening for us in the USA. Thank you Emy, I'm glad to mention you on this post and can't wait to start playing Wizard101 UK again :) You rock! Oh by the way, I need a picture of your wizard! I had to use your Twitter profile picture. Lol.

If you have a chance, you should thank them for everything they do!

I hope all of you like the new update, if you do please comment below on the post or tell me on Facebook or Twitter where I post this blog post :) Thanks for being such great supporters :D.

New Years Resolutions

Hello again,

I wanted to thank all of you and Kingsisle for a great year last year. It was the best year I've had on the game and I'm ready to make this year the best year too! I can't believe everything that happened last year, from Around the Spiral becoming a Pirate101 Fansite to reaching 200 members and 100k views. Its crazy all of this happened in a short amount of time and I'm ready to make this year epic. I have huge plans that I plan to accomplish and I hope you're ready for them because you're involved more than you know :). I hope all of you stick around with me another year to see all of the surprises I have planned for you...

  1. Wizard101 UK- I plan to start blogging about Wizard101 UK again and hopefully level my character through the game. I haven't had a chance to level on Wizard101 UK since the beginning of last year and I would love to level on there once again. I would also like to try to submit for fansite for UK after awhile, I'll have to see how that goes!
  2. Updates to Site- This is another main goal that I hope to accomplish. Its not only updates, its more of an improvement. Right now the site isn't doing too good on graphics with the background, I am hoping to fix that soon though. I am also going to add more information to the pages on the bottom of this blog, I haven't had a chance to do that yet!
  3. One last one- My last new years resolution is to impress you with all of the other surprises I have for you! I am hoping you like everything I have planned even though there's some things I haven't told you yet. 2013 will be the biggest year for Around the Spiral. I'm hoping it beats last year, if it doesn't it'll tie with last year! I hope you enjoy everything. :)

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Some wizards/pirates may not make new years resolutions but I think its good to make them! Its like goals you have for yourself and sometimes it does help.. Well last year I think it did more than help because I've completed all of my goals for my blog in a matter of a few months! If you have any goals you should try for yourself, you never know what might happen if you do. Good luck with your goals and I hope you enjoy Around the Spiral 2013! Futuristic... wow.. x stops typing x

2012: The best of Around the Spiral?

Hi there!

Well, this is the last day/ hours of 2012. I've had such a great year with all of you and I can't believe I'm saying it but I'll be gone until 2013. Yeah... Its awhile.. Okay maybe I should say next month, or.. tomorrow! Lol! :) I would never make a post like that. Today I'm going to make a great post of all of my favorite adventures on Around the Spiral and my favorite things about this year in blogging.

The beginning of 2012- Jan-May

I started off at a rough start on Around the Spiral due to personal issues but everything started to get better and I had my first huge contest! If you don't remember, I had my 10x10x10 contest  and that had to be the biggest contest I had this year. I was planning on having another contest which was supposed to be right about now. I decided to reschedule that until the beginning of next year though! I'll explain more in a little.. My other favorite thing about this time period was when Pirate101 was released. I was very excited and I had to start blogging about the announcement and all! I couldn't wait to start playing that. I found out about Pirate101 in April and I had to wait awhile until my ship arrived so I could finally experience my Pirate adventure. Around the Spiral had 150 members/50,000 views during this time period.

Middle Of 2012- June-September

Wow, this was a crazy time period. I loved every single moment of it though! In June I found out about the Pirate101 Fansite submission and was trying for that a few times. August was my favorite month, I couldn't blog about my adventures on Pirate101, but I really loved being accepted to Beta and really thank Kingsisle for that! I always wanted to join Wizard101 beta but I arrived to late and I'm glad I had a chance to participate in Pirate101 Beta! I think its made me a better player and its weird but I think its made me a better player in Pirate101 and Wizard101! Around the Spiral had about 175 members during this time period/ 80,000 views!

*End of 2012- October- December*

Yeah.. This time period.. It had to be the best Around the Spiral has ever had! In October I was trying my best to level and I didn't focus on blogging much. I was trying to figure out what my blog could be like at the end of the year if I made official Pirate101 fansite, this brings me to November 2012. On November 8th I finally made Pirate101 Official Fansite within an hour after submitting my blog. This was the third time and I couldn't believe it. I had a lot of hope that I would make it though :) This was a huge goal accomplished including 100,000 views on blog and 200 members. In December, this month, I had a chance to talk about my Pirate101 character, explain more about myself to my new members. I also had a chance to think about how great 2013 is going to be. I have a lot of goals, and I'm planning on completing them. Maybe I could have some help from you! I hope you stick around with me and continue your adventure Around the Spiral!

Maintenance Update

We're halfway through the maintenance! You're probably wondering where the pages have gone, they will be added soon. Its not going to be like it was before, there will be a few links to posts below the header and all of the Information Pages will be down at the bottom of the blog! The drop-down menu is going to be removed, I will try to figure out how to do that on another update to the blog. This is the biggest update we've had and trying to take time. Soon I'm going to submit for Pirate101 Fansite! I have a good feeling about submitting this time :) If it isn't true don't worry, everything is going to be okay. I am planning on blogging for quite some time and having more interesting posts :) And lets not forget the big contest we're having. Have you check out that post? Click the picture of the header above to see it! Good luck to all of you. It will be ending awhile from now but we will be having great contests before then. Hope to see you during the contests. See you around the Spiral, I'll be blogging soon!
